Meski ilmu pengetahuan medis sudah berkembang begitu pesat, tapi fenomena-fenomena seperti ini sangat abstrak dan sulit diteliti. Orang-orang yang sangat percaya kepada kemampuan ilmu pengetahuan akan sulit mempercayainya. Tapi seperti dilansir LiveScience, Selasa (11/5/2010) ada 5 fenomena yang dialami tubuh manusia yang sukar dijelaskan secara logika dan ilmu medis: 1. Intuisi ... Intuisi sering disebut bisikan hati atau kemampuan untuk memahami sesuatu tanpa dipikirkan dulu. Kita semua memiliki intuisi yang ketajamannya tiap orang berbeda-beda. Bisakah intuisi disebut indra keenam? Para ahli psikologi menyebutnya tidak bisa, karena intuisi juga sering salah menebak sesuatu seperti ketika pesawat yang Anda tumpangi mengalami turbulensi, Anda mengira pesawat akan jatuh tapi kenyataannya selamat. Psikolog mencatat intuisi sering muncul ketika seseorang ingin mengambil keputusan atau menuntun ke sesuatu tempat yang tanpa Anda ketahui bagaimana lokasinya. Namun intuisi ini sulit untuk dibuktikan atau dipelajari baik dalam ilmu psikologi atau medis. 2. Deja vu ... Lintasan memori yang misterius itulah yang dinamakan deja vu. Berasal dari bahasa Prancis deja vecu yang artinya pernah mengalami. Deja vu didefinisikan sebagai perasaan yang muncul karena merasa pernah mengalami, melihat, mendengar tapi sebenarnya belum pernah terjadi. Deja vu identik dengan perasaan beda, bingung dan misterius. Ketika masuk ke sebuah ruangan yang belum pernah Anda kunjungi, tiba-tiba Anda merasakan seperti pernah berada di ruangan ini dengan arsitektur dan orang-orang yang ditemui sama seperti yang sedang Anda hadapi. Psikologi mungkin bisa menjelaskan secara natural penyebab deja vu seperti sedang berhalusinasi atau pengaruh obat-obatan. Namun pada akhirnya penyebab dan sifat fenomena itu sendiri masih merupakan misteri. 3. Pengalaman Mati Suri ... Pengalaman mati suri (Near Death Experience) seringkali terjadi pada beberapa orang yang sedang sekarat. Ketika seseorang mendekati kematian, maka jiwanya meninggalkan tubuh dan mulai merasakan hal-hal yang biasanya tidak bisa dirasakan. Jiwanya berjalan melalui perbatasan antara hidup di dunia dan hidup di akhirat, biasanya berupa terowongan dengan cahaya di ujung. Secara ilmiah proses mati suri sangat kompleks, subjektif dan emosional. Mekanisme di balik beberapa pengalaman ini adalah cara otak memproses informasi sensorik. Orang-orang yang tidak percaya menganggap mati suri sebagai halusinasi atau trauma otak. Tapi hingga kini ilmuwan gagal menemukan apa yang terjadi saat orang mati suri dan kenapa bisa kembali hidup lagi. 4. Kekuatan Psikis (Kekuatan Batin) dan ESP ... Kekuatan psikis atau kekuatan batin dan Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP) termasuk fenomena yang tidak dapat dijelaskan karena seseorang yang mempunyai kekuatan psikis mampu menjangkau rahasia kehidupan dan masa depan. Banyak orang percaya bahwa intuisi adalah suatu bentuk kekuasaan psikis. Peneliti telah menguji orang-orang yang mengklaim memiliki kekuatan batin yang hasilnya sulit dijelaskan secara ilmiah. Beberapa berpendapat kekuatan batin tidak bisa diuji. Hingga kini ilmuwan belum bisa membuktikan fenomena atau keberadaan ilmu batin ini. 5. Kekuatan Tubuh dan Pikiran (The Body Mind Connection) ... Ilmu kedokteran hanyalah permulaan untuk mengerti bagaimana cara pikiran mempengaruhi tubuh. Efek placebo (obat semu tanpa bahan kimia) misalnya, menjelaskan bahwa orang bisa merasa lega karena obat yang efektif adalah percaya pada kemampuan obat tersebut meski obat yang diberikan tak ada bahan kimia. Inilah yang dinamakan kemampuan sugesti.
